50-year-old Pastor Dike Ocha of the Assemblies of God Church in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State was beaten and burnt to death by a mob last Tuesday after the mutilated body of a six-year-old girl was found beside his house. The girl, Fatima Yusuf, had been missing for four days. Narrating her story, wife of the deceased Mrs. Favour Ocha said: “I teach in a private school owned by the chief of Igbo in the area. I was with his wife when he called her on phone asking where I was. She told him we were together. Then he asked her to tell me not go to my house. He said my husband had called him on phone asking him to come immediately, that he was being stoned by some people.”

The life of a 17-year-old student of Bowen University, Opeyemi Odusanya, has been cut short by some cult members in Lagos. It was gathered that the undergraduate was murdered for allegedly rejecting sexual advances from some youths in the area and also for “being too proud.” PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim was a 300 level student of Biochemistry at the university. Police authorities told our correspondent that Opeyemi was stabbed to death by the cultists at her parents’ house in the Alakuko area of Lagos on February 3, 2014.

N1 Trillion Spent Illegally on Kerosene Subsidy –Tambuwal
Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the House of Representatives, has said
that available records indicated that the Federal Government spent over
N1 trillion on kerosene subsidy between 2010 and 2013. Tambuwal said in
spite of the expenditure not having the approval of the National
Assembly, the product was not available for “suffering Nigerians” to
buy.
