Ibadan indigenes, others donate N250m for Olubadan’s palace



Ibadan indigenes at home and in the diaspora have promised to build a new befitting official palace for the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana.
To this end, over N250m was raised for the new palace project which would have a living area for the monarch, royal guest house, ceremonial pavilion, reception block, festivities ground, car parks, palace transport pool, power house, police post, fire station, wood land and a market, a statement said on Sunday.

Mother burns daughter with hot iron

A woman, identified simply as Mrs. Maxwell, has been arrested by the police for allegedly assaulting her daughter, Blessing, with a hot pressing iron.
Blessing, a primary three student of the Lagos Model Nursery and Primary School, Ikeja GRA, was allegedly assaulted last Monday by her mother for licking the baby’s food.
AMEBO BIZZ gathered that the incident came to light after a neighbour, who lived within the Police College Barracks, Ikeja, with the Maxwells, allegedly called the authorities of the LMNPS to complain about Blessing’s condition. Blessing’s father is said to be a police corporal.

SEE 16-Year-Old Girl Locked In A Cage For Two & Half Years By Her Parents Over Alleged Witchcraft Illness



Tongues have begun to wag in Bayelsa following the discovery of a 16-year-old girl, Blessing Olokumo who had been locked up in a cage for the past 30 months by her parents over an alleged witchcraft induced illness.
Saturday Sun gathered that the cage that has housed the victim for two and half years is just by the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in Okolobiri community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.  She was rescued from the cage few days ago by the Mary Slessor Twins Foundation.

2 Brothers Die Of Magun After Sleeping With Uncles’ Wives In Ibadan



Two brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun died within days of each late last year in Oyo state and family members say it was after they slept with their uncles’ wives.
The uncle, (pictured above) is accused of killing the brothers with a deadly anti-adultery charm commonly known as Magun. He was attacked and nearly killed by irate youths following the death of the second brother. He is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan.

"Fuck you..selfish mudafucka you've pushed it too far"- Tonto Dikeh blasts AY again



So AY 's jokes seems to be getting on the nerves of some celebrities. Last week was Jim Iyke and this time Tonto Dikeh( who earlier had and issue with him)  took to twitter to blast him for using her name again. He posted a link on twitter and she saw it and immediately  fired back at him.
He has deleted the link.
Whatever it was must be serious because Tonto has been quiet for a while.

Another Veteran Nollywood Actor Dies

Another veteran nollywood actor has passed away.
The deceased, Chief Francis Daramola who who was known in the Yoruba theatre and film industry as Egbeji died on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
The deceased was famous for his role in ‘Iku Jare Eda’ and he was the husband of late Ramota Daramola, the first popular Orisabunmi in the Yoruba movie industry.
The Ogun State chapter of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP confirmed Chief Daramola’s death.

Savage Boko Haram attack on Nigeria town leaves scores dead

The Islamist insurgents also burnt scores of homes and buildings in the late Tuesday assault, according to locals, who reported seeing corpses littering the roadside.
Boko Haram fighters set up checkpoints in the Benisheik area and gunned down motorists and travellers who tried to flee, according to multiple witness accounts.
"Eighty-seven bodies were recovered in the bush and our people are still searching for more," Saidu Yakubu of the Environmental Protection Agency in northeastern Borno state told journalists.
He briefed reporters who accompanied Borno's Governor Kashim Shettima to the scene of the massacre.
Details of the attack in the town which has been previously been targeted by Boko Haram first emerged Wednesday.
