D’Banj May Be Evicted Over Unpaid Rent

This period seems not favourable to the career and personality of music star, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj.

In recent weeks, the entertainer has been bugged by various allegations of debts and decline in his creative talent.

The latest of this negative gist is about his accumulated unpaid rent in his Lagos, Nigeria, home.

A source close to D’Banj squealed to P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe that the singer has been having a running battle with his landlord over unpaid rent on his apartment which had even expired some months back.

Fake INEC officials hijack ad-hoc staff recruitment



Fraudsters posing as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recruitment officers are now collecting money from unsuspecting individuals in Zamfara state, northwest Nigeria, with the promise to give them employment.

Investigations by NAN in the state revealed that many unemployed youths had already fallen victims to the fraudsters.

Some had given money to fraudsters with the hope that they would serve as the ad-hoc workers in the 2015 general elections.

2015: Nigerians will enforce free and fair elections – Aregbesola, Oshiomhole

There was pandemonium yesterday at Amechi, Nkanu-West Local Government Area of Enugu State as the community could not come to terms with former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo over where his,son,Jim, Ifeanyi Nwobodo Jnr would be buried.

It was a show of shame at Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu State as the burial ceremony of Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, the late son of former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo turned awry as Nigerians from all walks of life waited in vain for the arrival of the corpse.

Kelly Rowland's mother, Doris Rowland Garrison passed away yesterday December 2nd just weeks after the singer welcomed her first child, Titan. Ms Doris had reportedly been battling a long ailment. Kelly hasn't mentioned anything about her mother's passing on social media but friends and family members have been sending condolence messages to her on Twitter. May her soul rest in peace, amen.

Tony Tetuila Loses APC Primary Election


Tony Tetuila who was dreaming of becoming a member of Kwara State House of Assembly come 2015 didn’t even attend yesterday’s APC primary elections which took place in the State. A source disclosed that party stake holders had earlier advised him to step down shortly after his campaign posters littered the State because they feel he wasn't ripe enough for the job. His name was not mentioned at the primaries not to talk of him attending.

Police Shut Kidnappers’ Den In Lagos



The police in Lagos have shut the house where kidnappers kept their victims until a ransom was paid on them in Isheri Oshun area of Lagos State, western Nigeria.
According to the residents, the landlord of the house who allegedly harboured the suspects, has also fled and after one the victims was rescued and some of the suspected kidnappers were arrested by the police recently.
The house located at 18, Odeniyi Ishola Street, off Bola Road, Isheri Oshun, was shut after the police raided the place and rescued one of the kidnapped victims, Alhaji Fashola Hammed.
The  building was locked by the police when our correspondent visited the house at Isheri Oshun on Monday.
The occupants of the two-bedroom flat Kelvin Igah and his wife, Ogechi and Kelvin’s younger brother, Victor Igah, were arrested there.

Nigerian Tennis Players Resort To Gambling After Losing Matches



According to P.M. News Sports (sorce)  report came that tennis players at the ongoing Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA Tennis Open resorted to gambling after losing their preliminary and first round matches.
The players, who were switching positions, used the players’ lounge as their base and caused all sorts of nuisance in the course of the betting game which they used playing cards to prosecute.
One player, identified as Kayode, had to borrow money on numerous occasions as he was not lucky enough to win while the betting was going on.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Tuesday that former great Thierry Henry will “certainly” return to the club in some capacity in the future.
Henry, Arsenal’s record goal-scorer, announced on Monday that he will leave Major League Soccer outfit the New York Red Bulls after a four-and-a-half-year spell in the United States.

APC announces 2nd raid of party’s Data Centre, calls it lawless, provocative



The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as the height of lawlessness and an orchestrated provocation the second raid that was carried out on the party’s data centre in Ikeja, Lagos, by the DSS on Monday night, saying the out-of-control agency must urgently be called to order.
”The raid by over 40 armed DSS officers, despite a court order restraining the service from such action, shows that the DSS considers itself to be above the laws of the land, and this is totally condemnable,” the party said in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

22 Dogs Killed In Mystery Kennel Blaze

An investigation is under way after 22 dogs died in their cages in a fire in east Yorkshire.
Firefighters said the blaze "totally destroyed" a wooden kennel at a dog breeder's home in Graingers Road, Hornsea.
The owners, who are thought to breed Staffordshire bull terriers, returned to their home on Saturday night to find it alight with the dogs inside.

Schools To Resume On September 22 – FG Says


The Federal government has directed all primary and secondary schools to resume on Monday September 22nd. The resumption date for schools had earlier been postponed to October 13th as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

However, the date has been shifted forward to September 22 following a review ordered by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

French Man Jailed for Phoning & Texting Ex-Girlfriend 21,807 Times


A 33-year-old French man has been sent to prison after phoning and texting his ex-girlfriend 21,807 times, admitting that, with hindsight, "it was stupid".

The unnamed defendant, who had made the calls to demand the woman thank him for fixing up their flat, was given a 10-month sentence – six months of which was suspended – and a €1,000 (£793) fine.

Ebola: FG Bans Importation Of Bush Meat

The Nigerian governemnt has banned the importation of bush meat into the country following the outbreak of Ebola Disease Virus, EDV, that has claimed at least 1,500 lives, according to the World Health Organisation.
Nigeria’s Health Minister, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, announced the ban on Monday during a meeting of National Council on Health, NCH, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The ban on bush meat through which Ebola could be contracted, is to prevent the spread of the disease which is being contained in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
