15-Year-Old Teen Accused Of Raping His Math Teacher Before Slashing Her Throat With A Box Cutter In School Bathroom.

The Massachusetts teenager who allegedly slashed his math teacher to death and then went to catch a movie and a burger pleaded not guilty today to a second aggravated rape charge.

Attorney's for Philip Chism, 15, entered the plea on his behalf as he stood silently with his head bowed and feet shackled during a brief hearing in Essex Superior Court.

Around two dozen people attended the hearing, including members of 24-year-old Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer,  who left without commenting.

German Govt. To Build Hospital For Albinos In Akwa Ibom

The plight of albinos in Nigeria may soon be over as the German Government has promised to build a world-class hospital in Akwa Ibom to address the medical challenges of albinos.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Ememabasi Bassey, made the disclosure on Tuesday when the Albino Foundation, led by its National President, Mr Jake Epele, paid him a courtesy visit in Uyo.

Policeman Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Killing 20-Year-Old Man, Emmanuel Victor.

Trigger-happy Policeman, Mathew Egheghe has been sentenced to death by hanging for his participation in the murder of Emmanuel Victor, a 20 year old young man who was killed in front of his mother by a , two years ago in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state.

Victor was shot dead after he confronted a group of policemen who were trying to extort money from motorists as he was coming back from church. Angered by his effrontery to question their action, Policeman Egheghe moved close to Victor and shot him at close range.

And in that office, Prof. Attahiru Jega has enjoyed so much goodwill. He came in, in the wake of a general election generally acknowledged as the worst in the history of modern elections, which produced a president who described himself as a product of a “flawed election”.

And Jega’s predecessor in office, Prof. Maurice Iwu, who superintended over the electoral disaster bowed out of office in circumstances entirely unsalutary, having been excoriated by all and sundry, including the beneficiaries of the charade. In order to salvage the situation and redeem a terribly bad image created by the flawed election, it became imperative to rejig the electoral commission as a way of giving credibility to subsequent elections. Only a man of proven integrity and popular appeal would be good enough to be charged with the responsibility of overseeing the electoral commission. It was against this background that Jega, one-time president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), became an acceptable, even promising choice.

Nigeria: 12 Suffer Burns As Fire Guts Vehicle On Third Mainland Bridge

Lagos — Twelve people suffered burns of varying degrees, yesterday, when an 18-seater bus somersaulted and caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge.

The victims were passengers of the Toyota Hiace commercial bus which was travelling towards Iyana-Oworo area.

Although no life was lost in the incident officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority had a hectic time before they could rescue the victims. Also, the incident caused a heavy gridlock on the ever busy bridge.

Jonathan Approves Boards For Aviation Parastatals

President Goodluck Jonathan has named the chairmen and board members for parastatal under the aviation sector.

The parastatals include Nigerian Airspace Management Agency Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ;Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and Nigerian Meteorological Agency.

A statement signed by Anyim Pius Anyim,Secretary to the Government of the Federation,SGF on Tuesday evening said President Goodluck Jonathan approved the composition and appointments of the Chairmen and members of the Governing Boards of the (aforementioned) Federal Government Parastatals and Agencies.

APC can’t recall me – Ajibola

Sen. Simeon Ajibola (PDP-Kwara) says the All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot recall him from the Senate.

Ajibola, who represents Kwara South Senatorial District, said this on Tuesday in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The lawmaker, who described the move to recall him as “laughable,’’ said the APC had no moral or legal right to commence the process of his recall.

Murder trial: Court adjourns case to Feb. 18

A Lagos High Court, Igbosere, on Monday adjourned the murder trial of an ex-police officer, Segun Fabunmi, till Feb. 18 due to the absence of a prosecution witness.
Fabunmi, a former Divisional Police Officer of Pen Cinema, Agege Police Division, is facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
He is accused of shooting to death one Adedamola Daramola in Lagos on Jan. 9, 2012, during the protests against the removal of fuel subsidy.

EFCC file fresh money laundering charge against Femi Fani-Kayode

Lagos – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday filed an amended money laundering charge against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, at a Federal High Court in Lagos.
At the resumed hearing of the case, the Prosecutor, Mr Festus Keyamo informed the court of the amended charge containing 40 counts and applied that the plea of the accused be taken.
After first count was read to the accused, his Counsel, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), raised an objection that the charge was invalid and his client could not plead to it.

2015: Sambo charges youths on national integration

Mother burns daughter with hot iron

A woman, identified simply as Mrs. Maxwell, has been arrested by the police for allegedly assaulting her daughter, Blessing, with a hot pressing iron.

Blessing, a primary three student of the Lagos Model Nursery and Primary School, Ikeja GRA, was allegedly assaulted last Monday by her mother for licking the baby’s food.

AMEBO BIZZ gathered that the incident came to light after a neighbour, who lived within the Police College Barracks, Ikeja, with the Maxwells, allegedly called the authorities of the LMNPS to complain about Blessing’s condition. Blessing’s father is said to be a police corporal.

SEE 16-Year-Old Girl Locked In A Cage For Two & Half Years By Her Parents Over Alleged Witchcraft Illness

Tongues have begun to wag in Bayelsa following the discovery of a 16-year-old girl, Blessing Olokumo who had been locked up in a cage for the past 30 months by her parents over an alleged witchcraft induced illness.

Saturday Sun gathered that the cage that has housed the victim for two and half years is just by the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital in Okolobiri community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.  She was rescued from the cage few days ago by the Mary Slessor Twins Foundation.

2 Brothers Die Of Magun After Sleeping With Uncles’ Wives In Ibadan

Two brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun died within days of each late last year in Oyo state and family members say it was after they slept with their uncles’ wives.

The uncle, (pictured above) is accused of killing the brothers with a deadly anti-adultery charm commonly known as Magun. He was attacked and nearly killed by irate youths following the death of the second brother. He is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan.

Another Veteran Nollywood Actor Dies

Another veteran nollywood actor has passed away.

The deceased, Chief Francis Daramola who who was known in the Yoruba theatre and film industry as Egbeji died on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

The deceased was famous for his role in ‘Iku Jare Eda’ and he was the husband of late Ramota Daramola, the first popular Orisabunmi in the Yoruba movie industry.

The Ogun State chapter of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, ANTP confirmed Chief Daramola’s death.
