Couple selling their 9th baby’s name for $20,000

A Jewish couple of New Jersey, decided to sell the name of their ninth child for a minimum of $20 thousand, according to a Craigslist advertisement.
The couple said that it is a wonderful opportunity for people, who never had children or to honor a loved one with a name.

They also outlined many rules the potential buyer would have to follow.
Here is the full text of the advertisement.
Hello. We are a Jewish family that just gave birth to our 9th daughter. We would like to sell the opportunity to name our daughter to someone else. This is an excellent opportunity for someone, who did not have children, or someone looking to honor a relative etc., or even to honor someone who was killed in the Holocaust.
Here are the rules:
We will be giving the child a Jewish name and a secular name. The name must be something appropriate for the child (Box or Christina just wouldn’t work for us). The name must be something that our child will not feel uncomfortable with. Please make a request before you pay, just to make sure.
In exchange for your money, we will name the child with your preferred Jewish name and secular name will appear on the birth certificate. In addition, we will invite you as the guest of honor to our child’s Bat Mitzvah, school plays and graduation ceremonies. Plus, I will personally say the Kaddish prayer for you after your passing at 120-years-old. What a tremendous honor to have a Jewish girl continuing your legacy!
The starting minimum bid for this opportunity is $20,000.00. Any questions, please feel free to ask, but hurry, we would like to do this on Saturday.
